Outdoor Play Party - Happy New Year!

Welcome to the first post of 2013 & here's to a whole new year of outdoor fun. We only went back to school yesterday so this week I'm just posting a couple of photos to show what the children got up to on their first day back after almost 2 weeks off.
They were all delighted to see each other again & exchange chat about what they had received for Christmas. As it began to rain several got on their rain gear & headed off to explore the grass mud area. Thanks to some advice from another colleague I took delivery of some Christmas tree branches to put down on the mud to make the area even more 'forest-like'.

There were so many great posts added in the last outdoor play party, especially given the time of year it was so it was difficult to choose one but in the end this one stood out for me: The one on creating a den making kit for a 5 year old boy from Lily over at Kindling What child wouldn't love to receive such a gift?
How did your kids play outdoors this week?

  1. I look at your play areas and it reminds me so much of J's nursery - May offer them our Christmas tree instead of shreading it to add to the "forest" floor. He's not back till Wednesday though

  3. Love your outdoor play spaces. I would love it if you came to my daughters' school and chatted about the value of outdoor classroom space. Maybe the next time you are in Toronto? Love it.
